www.visitcastle.co.ukNewcastle Town Council, Newcastle Town Centre Partnership brings together retailers and businesses, who are all working towards one common goal – to be the best market town in Staffordshire. They aim to develop and sustain a vibrant and prosperous town centre
We were commissioned to create new website to attract new businesses to the town centre. The new site needed to support and promote the existing businesses, promote events and activities in the town. The ultimate challenge was to increase footfall to the town centre and highlight the retailers, products and services available in the town centre.
We designed the website to appeal to a wide audience and to be as intuitive and as accessible as possible, utilising new technologies such as responsive web design to future proof and ensure it could be accessed easily on any mobile and traditional desktop device. The website features events, deals, news and information on the town centre. Businesses are promoted on the website and each have a dedicated page where they are able to update their business information, opening times, upload images, add local deals and promote their own events.
The majority of the content is generated by the businesses themselves, with the Town Centre Manager overseeing and moderating the content through a user friendly administration panel which we developed for purpose.
We engaged with local businesses before the official site launch. Businesses were invited to use an online form several months before the website launched. We had a great response with over 100 businesses offering their details and information about their services. This enabled us to pre-populate the website with content before the launch. Many more businesses have added themselves to the website since and early access users have been consistently adding their own deals and events to the website.
In the last month visitnewcastle.co.uk received over 12,000 visits with 62% of those browsing on a mobile device.

AccaTracker is a popular mobile application which keeps track of your football bets and gives you realtime information on the matches and how it ultimately affects your bets. The app is populated with up-to-date odds, allowing you to get the most return from your stake.
We were tasked with the creation of Android App to compare betting odds for multiple football matches from multiple bookmakers. The App also needed to be based on iOS version which had already been released. Technical issues which we needed to overcome were a mismatch of data between bookmakers and other data providers, meaning odds were not always displayed for every bookmaker, Caching data 'in-app' rather continuous pinging of servers meant an improvement in reliability.
The app was designed to appeal to all sports fans who are looking for the best odds for their chosen football matches. Ensuring the app was robust and scalable meant it would not crash during high traffic times such as Saturday afternoon. The app offers the latest odds for matches in the UK, across Europe and the rest of the world. All major domestic leagues and cup competitions are covered too so the data being managed is vast
Leagues and matches are easy to navigate and odds for all key outcomes are clearly laid out. Odds are supplied by major bookmakers and updated in real time to ensure that the latest odds are always available. Fixture listings are also pulled from 3rd party sources and checked at the back end of the app before appearing in the app to ensure that they match and that the correct appear for the right matches.
www.keele-conference.com Keele University Conference & Events is based within the rural setting of the main campus and is close to Birmingham and Manchester. They offer conference and meeting spaces to groups between 6 and 600 people. All of their venues are kitted out with the latest AV kit, have Wifi and offer free parking to delegates and guests.
We were asked to design and build a new website which showcases the many conference and wedding venues within the Keele University estate with a design that is clear and easy to navigate with a modern feel. The main target audiences were conference and wedding parties.
We felt that the new website needed to be more interactive and interesting than the previous out dated site. It also needed to combine details from many areas covering both corporate conferences and wedding parties. Until this point the wedding and conference businesses had their own websites making communications unnecessarily difficult to manage and confusing to customers.
The old site was design for desktop devices only and not mobile friendly, so this needed to be addressed following site traffic analysis suggesting an upward trend in visitors from mobile devices. While Wedding and Corporate conference customers were the primary focus consideration also needed to be given to the given public who may want to organise family parties etc.
We designed a single website to incorporate information about both conferencing and wedding facilities, utilising elements from the existing separate sites. This ensured a strong sense of brand consistency which was missing in the previous sites and improved the overall customer experience.
The new site offered visitors details of availability, Wedding package options and venue explanations. An interactive map helps visitors to determine the venue and space that best suites their needs.
The website is 'responsive' to aid viewing from all devices from small mobiles to large desktop monitors. This mean that columns in availability tables dynamically add and remove according to screen space available. Columns can also be switched on/ off by user as required in menu. Advanced CMS functionality means inhouse marketing team can add event details and other content to the site
www.typefrag.comTypefrag are a US Based software developer, providing voice communication software to the PC Gaming community. They are providers of TeamSpeak, Mumble & Ventrilo software.
To design a user interface (UI) for the main Typrfrag website which would appeal to the already established audience of the service. We were a;so asked to design the Facebook app UI together with Marketing assets (GDN banner ads, FB Ads etc), Online style guide and brand guidelines for use and consideration on future projects. Mobile website development was also part of the project.
Website designed to appeal to existing and new users with a clear, clean look, establishing brand guidelines and online style guide ensured a consistent look across the site. Existing page layout inconsistencies were addressed and new page for key features such as Billing & User account management were created. Facebook app designed to support the main website, offering users further interaction with typefrag and their account.
We designed banner advertisements that would drive traffic to the main site using Facebook and Google Display Network. Other elements of the project included Desktop App design, & Custom Icons, Customisible website widgets for users, Flash Animated banners for GDN, Product review pages & HTML 5 animated intro page.

Mandy is a web/user interface designer with over 10 years industry experience and a BA(HONS) In multimedia Graphics from Staffordshire University. She started as a user interface designer working on projects for console platforms and PC. After that, working as web designer at a Bakewell agency producing web designs and user interface designs for clients such as UEFA, ING Real Estate and Land Securities.
Alan is a self taught software engineer with a diverse set of development skills and over 14 years experience programming web and desktop software. He started his career as a reverse software engineer. Furthering his development experience, he worked for a well known UK games company as a programmer, creating cutting-edge development tools for a variety of large clients, such as Lucas Arts and Ubisoft.
JJ is our new Front End Web Developer/Designer, he joins us with a BSC in computer science and 3 years experience in cloud computing. JJ is creative and has a flair for design, he is passionate about development and is currently undergoing a Masters Degree in Web Development at Staffordshire University.
Chris joined Digital Delight recently and brings over 15 years of account management and marketing experience with him. Beginning his career based in London with a top 10 Video Games publisher, working on titles such as Tomb Raider, Championship Manager, Hitman and Kane & Lynch. Following his time in London Chris spent 3 years at a top design agency where he developed his account management skills.
